Rotary Dryer
A rotary dryer (also called rotary drum dryer) is a continuous industrial drying machine for bulk solid materials. It consists of a slightly inclined rotating cylinder, lifting flights, driving system, supporting device, sealing system, heat source and dust removal unit. The rotary dryer works by thermal convection, conduction and radiation. The drum rotates slowly at a designed speed with a small inclination (1–5°). Wet material enters from the higher end. Internal lifting flights pick up and cascade the material through hot gas flow, greatly expanding heat and mass transfer area. Hot air (or flue gas) flows co-currently or counter-currently with the material, evaporating moisture rapidly. Driven by gravity and rotation, material moves toward the lower end and is discharged as qualified dry product. Moisture is exhausted with waste gas after dust removal.
