Grain Dryer
A grain dryer is mainly used for drying grains such as barley, wheat, corn, paddy rice, peanuts, and more. The grain dryer adopts a tower-type design, consisting primarily of a hot air furnace and the main drying body. Grains are fed into the dryer from the bottom and dried using hot-air heat exchange. During the drying process, the generated steam is discharged in real time through reserved moisture outlets. We can provide customized solutions for drying 10–500 tons of grain per day.
As grain dryer designers, we adopt the principle of low-temperature mixed-flow drying.
Heating – The grain dryer heats air through the hot air furnace. Different heating methods are available, such as coal, wood pellets, electricity, or natural gas.
Drying – Grains are lifted to the top of the dryer and then flow downward slowly by gravity. Hot air, blown in by a fan, passes through layers of staggered angular boxes from all directions, penetrating the grain flow. The hot air exchanges heat with the grains, evaporating surface moisture. The drying process alternates between “drying and tempering” until the target moisture content is reached. Moisture and dust are collected simultaneously.
Discharge – After drying, the grains are automatically discharged. Typically, the final moisture content of dried grain is about 12%.

Features of a Grain Dryer
Our grain dryer designs offer many features:
Automated Drying – Fully automated operation including automatic feeding, drying, discharging, and shutdown, reducing labor costs.
Excellent Drying Performance – Special design ensures full contact between hot air and grain, eliminating dead zones, achieving 360° drying.
Wide Application – Capable of drying a variety of grains. Adjustable parameters such as hot air temperature, airflow, and drying time allow flexible adaptation to different grain types and initial moisture levels.
Integrated Design – The dryer integrates an elevator, cleaner, and grain storage silo in one system.

Advantages of a Grain Dryer
Continuous Operation – Can run 24 hours a day, unaffected by weather conditions.
High Flexibility – Adjustable parameters for different grains, ensuring tailored drying solutions.
Improved Grain Quality – Stable moisture content after drying improves storability and grain quality.
Key Considerations in Grain Drying
Temperature Control – Different grains have different heat tolerances. For example, paddy rice should not exceed 55°C, and corn should not exceed 60°C, to avoid scorching. This can be controlled by a PLC program according to grain type.
Uniform Feeding – Grain must be fed evenly to avoid pile-ups and incomplete drying.
Two-Stage Drying for High-Moisture Grains – Apply high temperature for rapid initial evaporation, followed by low-temperature drying to balance moisture and preserve grain quality.
