Coal Slime Dryer
Coal slime is a by-product generated during coal mining. When coal is mined, coal and water mix together to form coal slime. During the washing and grading process, a large amount of fine coal particles settle with wastewater, creating coal slime. In particular, in the coal washing process, slime water undergoes sedimentation, filtration, and dewatering to form filter cake-like coal slime with a moisture content of typically 25%-35% or even higher.
Coal slime usually has a moisture content of 30%-50%, appearing as a black, mud-like substance. It mainly consists of coal residues and coal powder, with high viscosity and poor fluidity, making it difficult to use directly.
Since coal slime usually contains a high proportion of coal, using a coal slime dryer allows for recycling and reuse of this valuable resource.
As a global leader in coal slime dryer manufacturing, we provide professional custom-made drying equipment. Drying coal slime is of great significance, as it enables resource recycling and utilization.
Coal slime, due to its high moisture and viscosity, is difficult to transport, store, or sell as a commercial product. Drying turns waste into value.
Benefits of coal slime drying:
Improve Economic Value – After drying (moisture reduced to 10%-15%), coal slime can be sold as a high-quality fuel for power plants and boiler houses, creating direct economic benefits.
Save Resources & Meet Environmental Standards – Drying reduces waste accumulation and prevents soil and water pollution caused by dust and leachate, fully complying with environmental regulations.
Easier Transport & Storage – Lower stickiness makes coal slime as easy to handle as standard coal, reducing logistics and storage costs.
Comprehensive Utilization – Dried coal slime can be mixed with middling coal, gangue, or used in briquette production, expanding its application channels.

The coal slime dryer is specially designed and manufactured to dry high-moisture coal slime on a large scale.
We adopt a rotary drum design with an advanced lifting plate system and a stable hot air system. Wet coal slime fully contacts the hot air inside the drum, moisture rapidly evaporates, and the material is dried efficiently.
Our dryers can be equipped with PLC control systems, achieving 24-hour continuous operation.
Working Principle of the Coal Slime Dryer
Like other industrial dryers, the coal slime dryer is composed of a rotary drum, burner, dust collector, pipelines, feeder, and conveyor.
Working process:
High-temperature hot air enters the drying drum and fully contacts the lifted coal slime;
Heat sources can be coal, biomass pellets, electricity, natural gas, etc.;

Hot air continuously flows through the drum, while the lifting plates and drum rotation keep the coal slime dispersed, accelerating evaporation;
The drum is driven by an electric motor. After multi-stage heat exchange, the moisture content of coal slime is reduced to the desired level, and the dried material is discharged from the outlet.
Features of Our Coal Slime Dryer
High Automation – Automatically adjusts drying temperature, drum speed, and airflow, enabling intelligent drying.
Large Processing Capacity – Continuous 24-hour drying, ideal for large-scale production.
Anti-Sticking & Anti-Clogging – Equipped with lifting plates and anti-sticking devices, effectively preventing wall adhesion and clogging.
Wide Application – In addition to coal slime, it can also dry coal powder, raw coal, flotation clean coal, and slag, widely used in coal, power, and metallurgy industries.
