Sludge dryer
A sludge dryer is a specialized piece of equipment designed for drying sludge. Sludge dryers can be used to dry municipal sludge, industrial sludge, electroplating sludge, paper mill sludge, dyeing sludge, river sludge, mining sludge, agricultural sludge, and more.

The sludge dryer uses thermal energy to directly exchange heat with the sludge, evaporating the moisture content. As a sludge dryer manufacturer, we offer three types of dryers for customers: Rotary Drum Dryer (also called Rotary Dryer), Belt Dryer, and Airflow Dryer.
Sludge generally contains over 80% water. Untreated sludge contains a large amount of heavy metals, harmful chemicals, and pathogens, and has a strong, unpleasant odor. It also occupies a significant amount of storage space. Sludge treatment is a global issue that governments face worldwide.
In fact, dried sludge is much easier to handle. It can be disposed of through methods such as landfill, incineration, or composting. After drying, the sludge’s volume and weight are greatly reduced, making it easier to transport. At the same time, environmental pollution is minimized, as the drying process significantly reduces the moisture content, preventing sludge from fermenting, rotting, and emitting foul odors, as well as avoiding water contamination.
Sludge can also be used as organic fertilizer or fuel. Dried sludge can be used as a supplement for organic fertilizer or made into sludge pellets for combustion in power plants and boilers.

Features and Advantages of Sludge Dryers
As a professional manufacturer of industrial sludge drying equipment, our sludge dryers have many features and advantages:
Modern Design: Our sludge dryer integrates the feeding system, drying system, discharging system, and dust removal system. The built-in rotary rake device continuously breaks up lumps in the sludge during the high moisture and high viscosity stages, increasing the heat exchange area and ensuring uniform and continuous drying. It perfectly adapts to municipal sludge as well as various hard-to-treat industrial sludges.
Low Energy Consumption: Our sludge dryers use closed-loop dehumidification heat pump technology, which saves over 70% of energy compared to traditional coal or oil heating methods. We also use multi-stage heat recovery technology to recycle and reuse the waste heat produced during the drying process.
High Automation: The sludge dryer is controlled by a PLC system, making it highly automated. Operations only require two operators. The system monitors drying temperature, moisture content, drum speed, and heat consumption.
Environmentally Friendly and Safe: Our sludge dryers meet S-grade environmental standards. They are fully enclosed, producing no smoke, dust, or noise during operation. The drying process does not emit any harmful gases, odors, or heat leakage.
High Stability: The sludge dryer is designed in a rotary drum style, with fixed components at the bottom. We use high-quality materials, such as Q235 or 45 carbon steel, that comply with ASTM standards, ensuring stable operation.

How to Reduce Energy Consumption in Sludge Drying
We offer four energy sources for sludge drying: coal, electricity, natural gas, and biomass pellets, giving customers flexibility in choosing the best option.

To reduce energy consumption, we suggest using a sludge filter press before drying. This step can reduce the moisture content from 98% to 60%-80%, making the drying process more energy-efficient.
We also offer high-end dryers that come equipped with waste gas heat recovery devices and dehumidification drying technology. Compared to traditional hot air drying, these solutions can save 50%-70% in energy consumption, making them particularly suitable for cost-sensitive projects.
